The Crystal Lake Academy presents The Author’s Journey: Poetry!

Poets, you can now book your spot in this year’s The Author’s Journey online workshop for poets.

Our team of editors/poets wants to facilitate your poetry writing journey for three months (from June 15th to September 7th), improving your craft and helping you get a poem ready for publication. That’s right, we’re going to compile all the final poems into an anthology which will be published by Crystal Lake Publishing before Christmas.

This course is recommended to poets at any stage of their writing journey. We’ll pair you into groups of ten, with two poetry teachers in charge of each group. Your first two teachers are Angela Yuriko Smith and Jamal Hodge. Naching T. Kassa will be the facilitator throughout the process/course. More teachers will be announced as spots fill.

The Process:
Upon signing up, we’ll send you an email with the tentative schedule, which will include one live Zoom session every week for the duration of the course. We’ll also ask you what your goal is for this workshop to make sure all the right topics are covered.

Our dedicated Facebook group:
In the Facebook group, all students will have the ability to post and pose questions to each other, the editors, and the publisher. We’ll all talk about our careers and goals, discuss problems facing authors today, and continue to learn in a more social environment. And hopefully make a few friends, as well. From our side, we’ll use this group to motivate and teach, as well as discuss books and trends.

At the end:
After the course, the editors will work together to make sure we can use a poem from each student to compile a poetry anthology, to be published by Crystal Lake Publishing in time for Christmas, 2023.
