A holiday horror novella by the award-winning author of The Ambush Moon Cycle trilogy, “Humbug” is a twisted new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” set in modern Seattle, which reimagines Scrooge as a jaded over-the-hill homicide detective hunting the titular murderer, a brilliant psychopath who kills one family every year on Christmas Day. With the case stalled and the brass threatening his removal, Scrooge receives some unexpected help during a Christmas Eve visit from the ghost of his deceased partner, Marley, and the monstrous spirits of three infamous, unidentified serial killers:
the Zodiac Killer, the Cleveland Torso Murderer, and (of course) Jack the Ripper.

Humbug will be released in December.
