Manteufel: I’m a native Minnesotan (you betcha) currently living in eastern Washington. c
What inspired your winning story? Why did that particular theme resonate with you?
Manteufel: Old school horror is one of my favorite types to read, so when I saw the theme, I was like, “I gotta try this.” Then I just started thinking about wild animals that, if mutated, would make good monsters and came up with feral hogs. Add to that, my best friend drives a Harley (another “hog”) and one thing led to another.
