Christopher Michael is an author, law enforcement agent, and a former soldier in the U.S. Army, where he completed multiple deployments in Afghanistan, East Asia, and Europe. Blending his real-world military experience with a love for cosmic horror, Christopher is the author of the series Danforth: Eldritch Tales of WWII, a thrilling combination of historical fiction and Lovecraftian horror that marks his entry into the literary world.
Chris began writing when he was in high school, going over-the-top on writing assignments that required the creation of an original story. Since then, he had intermittently written material throughout his adult life, but only recently began to commit. After attending therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD) from military and law enforcement service, he began a new journey of using his writing as a form of therapy and channeling his demons into stories that are a reflection of his inner-most thoughts. He hopes that by writing and infusing these stories with the pain and uncertainty that he has felt that it might help other military and law enforcement veterans, as well as anyone struggling with their own demons.
Danforth: Eldritch Tales of WWII is a series that beads the historical intrigue, intensity, and espionage of WWII, with the world of the Cthulhu Mythos created by the late author H. P. Lovecraft.
As a direct sequel to At the Mountains of Madness, the series follows Robert B. Danforth as he has struggled with his trauma of the expedition in Antarctica. His new-found obsession with the occult and forbidden knowledge leads to him being recruited by Col. William J. “Wild Bill” Donovan to a new clandestine unit – what will become the Office of Strategic Services (OSS).
Donovan knows that Danforth is not the only one who seeks forbidden knowledge which could threaten the world. The Axis powers are on the March, the Nazis have conquered most of Europe and North Africa, the Empire of Japan is marauding across the Pacific and southeast Asia, and the heads of the SS occult division are hungry for powers beyond their understanding.
