In the near future, Ronan Bard, the reclusive tech billionaire and controversial media darling fed up with the world, decides to build his own paradise. In an isolated location kept off most maps, a small island hosts the lucky few who have passed Ronan’s tests; people who, like him, enjoy a different way of life. The community thrives for a couple of decades. But even a paradise can get boring. And even a perfectly crafted utopia can become claustrophobic. Ronan, never one to hold back, wants to tell the world about the island. To tell the entire universe. Being a keen amateur astronomer, he sends out his own Golden Record into space. And eventually, his need for acknowledgment comes back to ruin him. A mysterious object arrives on the island, upending everything.
