Crystal Lake Publishing is launching a joint Kickstarter with Monstrous Books for a special comic book anthology series called DARKEST DEPTHS.
We started work on this project more than two years ago with our friend Taylor Grant being an integral part of its formation but had to put it on hold when he fell ill. We were devastated when Taylor passed away last September. So now DARKEST DEPTHS will serve as a tribute to him and feature the last comic story he wrote, “It Lives in Darkness.” Also, profits from the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign will be donated to his son.
Taylor believed in helping others and DARKEST DEPTHS will continue his legacy of mentorship by giving writers the opportunity to break into the comic book industry. Following the campaign, submissions will open for additional stories, the number depending on the campaign’s final funding level. It is our hope that the DARKEST DEPTHS series will be the launching pad for many aspiring comic book writers.
The first volume of the anthology already boasts a stellar lineup of comic book newcomers, Nick Roberts and Candace Nola (who will both be publishing their first comic stories), and veterans, John Durgin and James Aquilone.
